This program aims to improve the pool of capital available to very early stage companies by supporting capital deployment by angels, incubators, and other similar forms of ‘mentor capital’, in companies up to seed stage.

Lagos Innovates will match investment capital deployed by third party investors into Lagos-based companies up to seed stage on a one-for-one basis, and subject to a cap per company. Additional details will become available through the Lagos Innovates website once the Co-Investment program launches.

The investee company must be headquartered in Lagos.

Startups that have been incorporated for less than three years, and are headquartered in Lagos. At the time of the application, the company must have a commitment from a third-party early stage investor, such as an angel investor.  

The program will launch in the first half of 2018. 

The program will operate a rolling applications process, and will close for applications once funds allocated by Lagos Innovates to the Co-Investment program for each quarter have been exhausted.
